"FreeTime not the last expansion" says Prima | Posted on 12 Mar 2008

The general thought surrounding the Sims community is that FreeTime is the last expansion pack for The Sims 2, ready for The Sims 3 to come into place.

However, the author of Prima's FreeTime Strategy Guide has thrown a spanner in the works; he says that FreeTime "is not (unless something big has changed) the last expansion pack", which he posted on Prima's official forums.

This, of course, should be taken with a pinch of salt until EA announces anything, but if this is the case, could we be seeing a final Makin' Magic-style expansion? Or a Superstar remake? For now all we can do is speculate!

New Poll - Excited About The Sims 3? | Posted on 11 Mar 2008

With news flooding the internet of The Sims 3 this month, some players are naturally divided in their thoughts about the announcement of the new game.

Some players have grown so attached to their Sims in The Sims 2 that they can't bare the thought of starting new, some can't wait and some aren't sure about the new direction the game is taking.

Of course, when The Sims 2 was announced, the same ideas were thrown about, and now most players wouldn't think about going back to The Sims 1!

So, what do you think? Cast your vote on the right hand side! smile

In other news, the cover of this month's Games for Windows has been posted to the new Sims 3 gallery here on SimSational:

TheSims3.com Launched | Posted on 05 Mar 2008

Today the official website for The Sims 3 has been opened, although at the moment it simply displays a message.

The message reads: "More information coming soon! March 19 2008". Perhaps the whole official site for the new game will also be revealed on this date.

A large ultra-modern plumbob adorns the page, updating the iconic symbol from the previous two games.

Until March 19, however, Happy Simming!

First Hints Towards The Sims 3 | Posted on 25 Jan 2008

Now that many European fansites have had the chance to check out the latest expansion pack, FreeTime, news has been let out of hints within the expansion towards what The Sims 3 may have in store for us!

Firstly, one of the new video games Sims can play in FreeTime is "The Sims 3". When Sims play this game, the computer shows Sims walking within a street, and Sims supposedly in Create-a-Sim mode with their shoes changing; a hint towards Sims shoes being customisable in the game.

Secondly, a new painting in FreeTime shows a neighbourhood of houses, but looks very different from The Sims 2. The item's description reads: "Ying's artistic masterpiece paints a Sims world as seen through [the eyes of] a visionary. Ying imagines a world where houses are no longer separated and houses of grand design rise from the neighborhood. [Some] say it's madness; Ying says it's the future." If this is a teaser for The Sims 3, we can finally expect the game to allow us to freely roam our neighbourhoods as a whole rather than playing just a single household at a time! Of course, this is just speculation at this point in time.

With these small bursts of Sims 3 goodness, perhaps we can expect more Sims 3 news to be released over the coming months? Stick with us at SimSational and we'll dish out the news all for you!
